Softball Advisory Committee Meeting Summary
Held October 28, 2009

***1.    Recommend that the pitching distance for Varsity and JV softball teams be at 43 ft. and that the 3rd level high school team and 7th and 8th grade have the option to pitch at 40 ft. or 43 ft.  This decision must be made at the beginning of the season to let other schools know which distance will be used (Amended:  All high school level games will pitch from 43 ft.)

***2.    Recommend that a change for the 2011-2012 season include both the district winner and the runner-up to advance to the state championship series.  This would create a four team Quarterfinal and 8 teams advancing to the state site. At the state site there would be an 8 team bracket, single elimination tournament to establish first and second place.  (Amended:  To take to area meetings)

*    3.    Recommend that some sort of championship series be established for the Spring softball season. (Must have a very specific plan)
