St. Louis

In 1933, MSHSAA added St. Louis as its 6th Board District. Interestingly, the new board district only included 1) the city of St. Louis, 2) St. Louis County, and 3) St. Charles High School -- but NOT St. Charles County, which remained in the Northeast Board District.

In 1937, MSHSAA added just the city of Kansas City as its 7th Board District.

In 1939, MSHSAA added South Central as its 8th Board District. Camden, Maries, Osage, Phelps, and Pulaski were moved out of the Central Board District, and Gasconade, Franklin, Crawford, and Dent came over from the Southeast Board District.

In 1953, the St. Louis Board District expanded to include the entirety of St. Charles County.

In 1980, the Kansas City Board District expanded to encompass Jackson, Clay, and Platte counties. This change in 1980 represents the last change that was made to these eight geographical Board Districts, which remain the same today.

In 2004, the membership created two regions for further Board representation. Each of two At-Large Board positions are filled by a candidate representing the under-represented gender of the current Board, or an under-represented ethnicity. Region 1 includes the St. Louis and Kansas City Board Districts. Region 2 includes the remaining six Board Districts.
