MSHSAA Board Meeting Summary: Sept. 17-18, 2025

COLUMBIA – The Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Board of Directors met for its regularly scheduled board meeting Sept. 17-18 at the MSHSAA office. The Board addressed a range of topics impacting member schools across the state.

MSHSAA is pleased to welcome two new board members, who officially joined on July 1.
  • Scott Gemes, superintendent of Warsaw School District (Central District)
  • Jim Welby, head of school at St. Dominic High School (St. Louis District)

Additionally, Josh Scott, district activities director for Springfield School District, has been named the new president of the board, while Craig Gibbs, principal at Valle Catholic High School, will serve as vice president.

During the meeting, the Board approved the 2024-25 Interscholastic Youth Sports Brain Injury Report.

In addition, the Board approved recommendations from the Baseball, Scholar Bowl and Sports Medicine Advisory Committees. Specific information on those board actions will be available here in the future.

The Board will meet again for a regularly scheduled meeting in December in St. Joseph.
