MSHSAA Launches Website for Video Coverage

New site will provide free video coverage to championship events and more.

Columbia, Mo.- The Missouri State High School Activities Association  in partnership with When We Were Young Productions have launched MSHSAA.tv.  The website will contain live game action, as well as archived events and highlight summaries at no cost to the viewer.

“We have been expanding internet coverage of our championships for the past few years,” said MSHSAA Executive Director Dr. Kerwin Urhahn.  “Our budding relationship with When We Were Young Productions has given us the opportunity to expand our internet coverage to another level.”

Fans will be able to watch their favorite teams compete for MSHSAA championships, beginning with the 2009 MSHSAA Softball Championships in St. Joseph.  Other championship coverage planned for the fall include the boy’s soccer championship games, the volleyball championship matches and the football championship contests.  All twelve games of the softball championships are scheduled to be added to the website from St. Joseph.

“This is a huge opportunity to showcase the students of Missouri,” said Urhahn.  “We will also be able to cover activities such as academic competition, speech and debate, music, in addition to other championship events.”

While this year’s softball championship will be the first content added to the site, other events will be added in the near future.  The site will contain past championship broadcasts in football and basketball.  Fans will also be able to purchase DVDs of both current year championships and re-mastered videos of past championships.  Championship events won’t be the only feature to the site as regular season contests may also be added as soon as this winter.
