TRACK AND FIELD ADVISORY COMMITTEE                                                    

Held June 6, 2018

 

1.  Recommend eliminating the jump-off procedure for needing four competitors after no-heights in vertical jumps.

2.  Recommend sending a survey to all head track coaches concerning the 1600m sprint medley relay and preliminaries in the short hurdles, 100m dash and the 200m dash.

3.  Recommend approving the proposed new schedule (below) for field events at the district and sectional levels, knowing that Games Committees have the right to change it if necessary to meet the needs of a particular meet.

4.  Recommend mandating that a change made to adjust the time of the 3200m run (because of weather issues) at a district or sectional meet must be sent to attending schools by 4:00 p.m. on the Tuesday before the meet.

5.  Recommend adding to the Track and Field Manual that a wind gauge is acceptable to use at district and sectional meets if provided by the individuals schools and communicated to the host school and timing company in advance that it will be used.

6.  Recommend adding the following statement to the Track and Field Manual to the no-show rule (Page 13-O):  At the district, sectional and state level, a relay team that no shows to an event will have all runners listed (up to and including all six) attached to the event, unless the event is scratched.
