Directions and Parking - State Track and Field Meet

Jefferson City High School

Stadium Boulevard will be closed to all public traffic from Jackson Street to Lafayette Street.

Street Access and Traffic Flow

Spectators should travel on Highway 50 and exit onto Lafayette St.  Travel south on Lafayette, which will lead you directly to the parking areas designated for the state track meet.

Classes 1-2-3-4

  • All high school campus lots available as in the past.
  • There will be no reserved/come & go parking spots available this year.
  • Stadium lot next to press box, the lot just north of Union street (Nichols building lot) and the roundabout lot are $10 each.
  • All other lots north of the high school and Thorpe Gordon Elementary School are $5 each.
  • There will be shuttle carts and attendants serving all the north lots and attendants serving the lots closer to the track.
  • Schools can exit Hwy 54 onto Stadium drive, unload just south of the track, as we have done in the past.
  • Buses can park on the Driver Ed. Range as in the past. Please give the drivers the map that is on the MSHSAA website so they can follow that route to get to the range. Other routes will cause them to make some very sharp corners with very limited line of site.
  • Please encourage parents to exit from Hwy 50 onto Lafayette Street going south. The lots they will use to park are all accessible to them without getting entangled with all the "school" traffic. This makes it easier for both groups.

Class 5

  • There will be no parking available on Jefferson City High School campus as school is in sessional that day.
  • The stadium lot will be available to MSHSAA officials and handicapped patrons only.
  • No other lots, nor Union Street, will be available on our campus.
  • Schools can exit Hwy 54 onto Stadium drive, unload just south of the track, as we have done in the past.
  • Buses can park on the Driver Ed. Range as in the past. Please give the drivers the map that is on the MSHSAA website so they can follow that route to get to the range. Other routes will cause them to make some very sharp corners on narrow streets with very limited line of site.
  • If you are not arriving in a bus you will have to continue east on Stadium Drive to park on Lincoln University campus and walk or shuttle back to the stadium. Please see the information below.
  • Please encourage parents to exit from Hwy 50 onto Lafayette Street going south. The lots they will use on Lincoln University campus are all accessible to them without getting entangled with all the "school" traffic. This makes it easier for both groups.
  • We have worked with Lincoln University to provide parking spots that are somewhat near our track for parents and spectators. These lots will be serviced by "shuttle buses." There will be two buses following the route on the map provided on the MSHSAA website until 11:00 a.m., and then there will be one bus for the remainder of the day. This map has lots on the Lincoln campus that are available for state track meet parking highlighted.
  • The shuttles will follow the route indicated on the map to bring patrons to the track, and to take patrons back to their vehicles.  The shuttle will drop off and pick up patrons on the stadium parking lot at the press box entrance. They can then walk just a few steps to enter the stadium, or to leave the stadium, and return to their cars. There is no cost to park on Lincoln's campus and no cost to ride the shuttle (thanks to Lincoln University and to our Convention and Visitors Bureau).
