2. Recommend the use of an electronic submission format for state entries with email verification of the psych sheet back to schools for the 2006-07 school year. (Tabled)
3. Recommend that the Performance Certification Sheets no longer be faxed to MSHSAA prior to the state meet. Swim coaches must provide proof of qualifying time by the end preliminaries if swimmer does not meet the qualifying time during preliminaries at the state meet. MSHSAA will send a letter of reprimand to schools that fail to provide proof of qualifying time. (Denied)
4. Recommend to return to the format used in previous years when listing heat sheets in the MSHSAA official program (one heat per page, increase font and include line for finals) and change heading from “Overall” to “State Meet” under records. (No action)
5. Recommend providing three copies of the heat sheet for schools on Friday and Saturday and one MSHSAA Official Program in the coaches packet for the state swim meets. (Denied)
6. Recommend to form a sub-committee to develop standards and procedures for the selection of as officials for the MSHSAA Swimming & Diving Championships.
Amend: Recommend requiring that swimming schools rate officials. (Approved as amended)
7. Recommend to move the MSHSAA Girls State Swimming and Diving Championships to
February 22-23 (Week 34 of the Standardized Calendar) for the 2007-08 school year. (Denied)
8. Recommend to reconvene the ad-hoc committee to review By-Law 235 for swimming and diving. (Denied)
9. Recommend to allow fly-over starts for high school swimming competitions in Missouri. (Denied)
10. Recommend to continue the MSHSAA Dive Judges Clinic for the 2006-07 school year. (Approved)
11. Recommend to increase the general swimming warm-up time for each group from 15 minutes to 20 minutes and that the following adjustments be made to lane assignments during warm-ups:
1:15 p.m. Swimming warm-ups in competition end 1:15-1:35 p.m. - Group 1 Laps
1:35-1:55 p.m. - Group 2 Laps
1:55-2:15 p.m. - Group 3 Laps
2:15-2:25 p.m. - Group 3 Take-offs
2:25-2:35 p.m. - Group 2 Take-offs
2:35-2:45 p.m. - Group 1 Take-offs
Diving Practice 1:15-2:45 p.m. and 3 p.m. throughout prelims.
Sprint Take-offs (lanes 1, 2, 3)
Relay Take-offs (lanes 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 competition end)
Two additional lanes in the diving end of the pool will be made available for relay take-offs from 2:15-2:45 p.m. if needed due to the number of relay entries.
Use of these additional lanes in the diving end for relay take-offs must be supervised by a “meet official”. (Approved)
12. Went on record in support of looking at other facilities across the state to host the MSHSAA Swimming and Diving Championships. (Approved)
