Held May 23, 2007

1. Recommend to allow the MSHSAA Prescribed Graded Music List Review and Revision Project to proceed.

2. Recommend that all instrumentalist soloists must supply the adjudicator with an original publication of the soloist's part, not the piano score, if one is published.

3. Recommend to leave the three minute minimum time requirement in place for all solo and small ensemble performances at the district and state level.

4. Recommend that no more than six entries from one school be scheduled back to back in each performance room at the district music festivals.

5. Recommend to place an item on the annual ballot to change current MSHSAA By-Law 430 to require music directors (instrumental, vocal and orchestral) to attend an MSHSAA rules meeting every year.

6. Recommend to eliminate a music rules meeting during the MMEA Conference in January and to investigate the possibility of offering music rules meetings during the MMEA affiliate organizations summer conferences.

7. Recommend a clarification in the MSHSAA Music Manual that a soloist must perform from the original solo publication and not Smart Music during the district and/or state music festivals.

8. Recommend raising the number of entries per day an individual may accompany from 15 to 20 at the district and state music festivals.

All items were approved.
