Carthage HS Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach


The Carthage R-9 School District in Carthage, Missouri is accepting applications for a Head Varsity Boys’ Basketball Coach for Carthage High School. Carthage High School has an enrollment of 1,398 students in grades 9-12. CHS is a member of the Central Ozark Conference (COC) and played in MSHSAA Class 5, the largest of five classifications in the state of Missouri.


This position will be paired with a teaching assignment in the certification field of the successful candidate who must be eligible for and obtain a teaching license from the Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education. The applicant must be able to obtain the necessary coaching certification required by the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) and Carthage High School. Previous experience with 3-Dimensional Coaching is preferred, but training will be provided upon hiring.


The successful candidate will be responsible for all program specific operations which will include, but not limited, to the following: planning, supervision, and development of program-wide speed, agility, and strength programs for all student-athletes, the development and involvement of 7th & 8th Grade, Freshman, JV, and Varsity programs; oversight of assistant coaches, promoting student-athlete participation in the program at all levels; establish and maintain a positive line of communication with all student-athletes, parents, community, faculty, and administration; communicate a vision of a successful, comprehensive program. Prior successful head coaching experience is preferred, but all applications will be considered.
