Volleyball Advisory Committee Summary

1. Recommend a Point of Emphasis be included in the 2017 Volleyball Online Rules Review that upon entering the court for warm-up, teams are to run on their team’s side of the net only.
* 2. Recommend eliminating the use of the all-white volleyball for match play at all levels, beginning with the 2018-19 school year.
* 3. Recommend an item be placed as a topic for the 2017 MSHSAA Area Meetings or a question on the Annual Questionnaire to add girls sand volleyball as an emerging activity.
* 4. Recommend to place an item on the MSHSAA Annual Ballot amending By-Law 5.1.4 to increase volleyball classification from 4 to 5 classes beginning with the 2018-19 school year.
5. Recommend to survey the high school volleyball coaches and school administrators on whether they favor moving to a 3/5 format for postseason play for districts, sectional and state.
