NFHS Sanctioning Procedure
Beginning
August 1, 2009 the NFHS will be moving to an online sanctioning process. Interested individuals who want to host an
event will go online at the NFHS website (www.nfhs.org),
register as an event manager, create an event and fill out the online
application (identical to the paper version) then an email is sent to the host
school's principal and host state association alerting them that an online
application has been submitted for review.
If the event is approved by the host state association the event sponsor
is notified by the host state association that payment is required. Credit
card payment and electronic check are the only forms of payment will be
accepted.
There
will be a processing fee for interstate and international sanctioning
applications. In addition, there
will be an increase in the processing fee for an application. Beginning August 1st the new price
per sanction application will be $200, with a penalty fee of $100 for not
forwarding the final list of actual entries twenty (20) calendar days prior to
the event. The timeline/fee structure
has also been revised. A PowerPoint
presentation has been developed and placed on the NFHS website. It may be accessed by selecting the 'sports'
tab then 'sanctioning'. Select the link
entitled 'New Online NFHS Sanctioning Process for Event Managers and School
Sponsors'. This link does an excellent
job of highlighting the new process and provides an FAQ section that will be
helpful to everyone.
