POSITION OPENING
The MSHSAA Board of Directors hereby announces a position opening on the MSHSAA Executive Staff.

Qualifications set for the position are a minimum of a Masters Degree in Education or Administration. Required is a minimum of three years administrative experience as school administrator; athletic/activities director with full administrative responsibilities or comparable administrative responsibility; organized, strong computer skills; good experience with websites; and good writing skills. The salary range established is in the range of $80,000 - $90,000 and commensurate with experience.
The general responsibilities of this position will include: administration of activities, administration of various athletic programs (football officials, tennis, and wrestling), special projects and specific assignments based on skills and experience.

POSITION OPENING
FOR MSHSAA ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
1. Job Description a. General planning and administration of district and state athletic/activity tournaments, game rules, eligibility and other projects.
b. Coordinate various MSHSAA sports and other activities according to the needs of the Association and the experience and expertise of the candidate.
c. Assume planning and administrative responsibilities in other phases of the activities of the Association.
d. Serve as a representative of the MSHSAA to superintendents, principals, advisory committees, activities/athletic directors and coaches/sponsors in the administration of the interscholastic activities program.
e. Supervise various support staff.
f. Interpret and assist with eligibility issues of MSHSAA Constitution, By-Laws and Activity Regulations.
g. Communicates and promotes the value of interscholastic participation, sportsmanship and mission of MSHSAA on behalf of the member schools.
2. General Qualifications
a. College degree.
b. Masters degree required (education or administration preferred).
c. Experience in interscholastic activities as an administrator, activities director or comparable school position. Must have three years of administrative experience.
d. Ability to organize and work with others.
e. Ability to make effective public presentations, written and oral, and to develop and maintain satisfactory relations with school personnel, news media and the public at all levels.
f. Good computer skills and ability to operate computer programs is essential.
g. Knowledge of office procedures and ability to work with and supervise adult office personnel.
h. Ability to foresee needs and initiate programs to serve school needs.
i. Wholesome personality, good judgment, tact, integrity, and ability to cope with unforeseen situations.
j. Ability to work with diverse groups.
k. Must have good general health.
3. Employment a. Starting date for position is no later than July 1, 2010.
4. Time Line for Completing Employment Process
a. December 4 – deadline for applications.
b. January 29 - Selection completed no later than.
c. July 1 - Employment begins (Date may be negotiated).
5. Salary - $80,000 - $90,000 (commensurate with qualifications)
