2. Recommended that active high school coaches
continue to be selected by members of the Swimming Advisory Committee to judge
diving at the State Meets and that they not be allowed to coach their athletes
in diving once the diving event begins at the state competition.
3. Recommended that, based on NFHS Rule 5-4-5,
finals event alternates be used and the finals event re-seeded only for
situations involving illness and injury that are known and submitted to the
Meet Director prior to the conclusion of the diving event. In the event of no-shows and other
unexpected, last-minute participant changes, alternates will not be used and a
lane will be left open, in order to prevent delays of the meet.
* 4. Recommended that an item be placed on the
2010 Annual Ballot to amend By-Law 235 in regard to the exception for swimming
and diving, and make the allowances for swimming consistent with the allowances
for golf and tennis.
