Advisory Committee May 26th, 2011
1. Recommend to
add to the inclement weather policy for districts and sectionals the following
statement: “if all competitors have played the same nine holes, the
tournament is deemed to be completed and participants shall not come back on a
different day to finish.”
2. Recommend a revision in cell use policy: Golfers may
not use electronic communicational devices or equipment on the golf
course. The penalty is disqualification.
3. Recommend adding the following to the Spectator Passes
for District, Sectional, and State Golf:
“Spectators may only use their cell phone in the
texting capacity on the golf course”
4. Recommended
MSHSAA publish a Hard Card to be used by all schools and competitors during the
season.
*5. Recommend MSHSAA publish Pace of Play Guidelines and
use them in Districts, Sectionals, and State with the following penalties. First offense: Warning, Second Offense: 1
stroke, Third Offense: 2 Strokes.
Amended: Recommend MSHSAA publish Pace of Play Guidelines and
use them in Districts, Sectionals, and State with no penalty strokes assessed
for players not being on pace.
6. Recommend moving the Boy’s Golf District dates to
Monday, April 23rd thru Wednesday, April 25th, 2012.
7. Recommend MSHSAA adopt the USGA policy
allowing each school may appoint up to two coaches to coach (give
advice) at the state tournament. One of
the appointed coaches must be the Head Golf Coach and the Head Coach must
complete the duties assigned in assisting with the tournament. The appointed coaches must be the same for
both days of the tournament and must meet all MSHSAA requirements to be a
certified golf coach.
8. Recommend
MSHSAA survey Golf Coaches regarding the use of Markers at Districts, Sectionals,
and State Tournaments.
9. Recommend the course rotation for 2012-13 school year
thru the 2015-16 school year:

Course will be reviewed in the Spring of 2013, if course conditions have not
improved to meet the State Championship Course expectations, then another site
will be selected for Class 1 in 2014-15.
