Football Advisory Committee Meeting

Held December 9, 2010

1.      Recommend that the MSHSAA staff investigate the pros and cons of initiating an instant replay system only at the Football State Championships at the Dome. 

2.      Recommend that the number of allowable contests for junior high football teams should remain at six.

***3.      Recommend that the MSHSAA Office submit by November 1, 2011, a Football Rules Change Proposal Form to the NFHS to allow, during a dead ball situation, an unlimited number of coaches in the coaches’ box.

4.      Recommend that members of the Football Coaches’ Association, with proper identification and membership card, be allowed into post-season football contests free of admission, with the exception of the championship games at the Dome.

5.      Recommend that MSHSAA adopt a new football playoff system where seeding determines the post-season play, with the first nine weeks of the schedule being regular season play and the last week (Week 10) being the start of district play.

**6.      Recommend that MSHSAA place the three football playoff systems on the Annual Questionnaire for a vote of the membership schools who are registered in football.
